How to wash the pottery?
In Pottery care you can find answers to common questions related with ceramics. Hand wash your mug with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge. After washing, let it dry off completely before placing in the kitchen cupboard.
How to remove coffee and tea stains from cups?
1. For coffee and tea stains, sprinkle some baking soda onto the bottom of your stained cup and add just enough water to form a paste and scrub. The gentle abrasion of the baking soda will get rid of stains in a matter of minutes. Then, simply rinse and wash the way you usually would.
2. For tea stains you can also use white vinegar.
Are they food safe?
In Pottery care always help you with your doubts about these safe dishes are non-toxic and lead free, they are perfectly suitable for food.
Are they durable?
Yes, they are very durable under “normal” use and yes, they will break if dropped on a concrete floor or hard surface. Ceramics should be protected from obvious shocks like dropping it and from sudden changes in temperature.
Can these ceramics go in the dishwasher?
My ceramics are absolutely suitable for dishwashing. They are made of stoneware or porcelain (high temperature material), therefore they will not crack.
I don’t recommend washing them in the dishwasher if the pieces have metallic decorations, They could wear out over time.
If you have cracked plates or cups at home due to the use of the dishwasher, it is because they are made of clay (low temperature material).
Can these ceramics go in the microwave?
All my ceramics are microwave-suitable, except those that have metal gilding (or any other kind of metallic decorations).
Tip for the ceramic mugs that you have at home. You can test your mug by filling it with water and then heating it for ~30 seconds. The water should be hotter than the mug. If the mug/glass is hotter than the water, do not use it for microwaving.
Can these ceramics go into the oven?
All my ceramic pieces are made of stoneware and porcelain. They are normally oven safe, but I don’t recommend it. Because sometimes the combination of cold and rapid heating, creates a problem of heat distribution and the piece can crack.
